Zero Defects International Brings in Taiyo PCB Inspection System
Zero Defects International [ZDI] has been designated by Taiyo Industrial Company, Japan, to manage the North American introduction of it’s programmed printed circuit board final inspection systems. These inspection systems have got extensive success in The EU and in China and are now being brought in to the USA and Canada.
Prior to beginning this task, ZDI contacted a range of PCB manufacturers in order to see whether there would be a perceived need for this kind of equipment. The comprehensive agreement was that the product is one that will perform a very important function and, at the same time, provide a very ideal Return on investment.
Recent initial trials in the US have shown that the machine managed to discover imperfections that passed traditional visual inspection but should have been flagged as not meeting the end customer’s requirements. Detection capabilities involve: exposed copper, solder mask on pads, scratches, foreign material, blocked holes and chipped plating.
