Zero Defects International Introduces Taiyo PCB Inspection System
Zero Defects International [ZDI] has been appointed by Taiyo Industrial Company, Japan, to manage the North American introduction of it’s programmed printed circuit board final inspection systems. These inspection systems have enjoyed popular success in Europe and in Japan and are right now being brought in to the USA and Canada.
Previous to commencing this task, ZDI contacted a range of PCB producers so as to see if there would be a perceived desire for this kind of equipment. The popular opinion was that the product is one that will conduct a very important function and, concurrently, present a very acceptable Return on investment.
Recent initial trials in the USA have proven that the machine was able to uncover flaws that passed standard visual inspection but should have been flagged as not meeting the end customer’s standard. Diagnosis capabilities contain: exposed copper, solder mask on pads, scratches, foreign material, blocked holes and chipped plating.
