Zero Defects International Brings in Taiyo PCB Inspection System
Zero Defects International [ZDI] has been appointed by Taiyo Industrial Company, Japan, to manage the North American introduction of it’s automatic printed circuit board final inspection systems. These inspection systems have won widespread success in Europe and in Asian countries and are currently being brought in to the America and Canada.
Just before commencing this job, ZDI contacted lots of PCB makers so that they can see whether there would be a perceived demand for this sort of equipment. The popular opinion was that the product is one that will do an important function and, on the other hand, provide a very reasonable Return on investment.
Latest initial trials in America have proven that the machine could uncover defects that passed traditional visual inspection but should have been flagged as not meeting the end customer’s specification. Detection capabilities include: exposed copper, solder mask on pads, scratches, foreign material, blocked holes and chipped plating.
